On the basis of Article 47 of the Statute of the Economic Chamber of Macedonia and the Agreement for the establishment of the Association of the travel agencies of Macedonia, the Assembly of the Association of the Travel Agencies of Macedonia on the session held on 23.12.1994, adopted the

STATUTE

of the Association of the Travel Agencies of Macedonia - ATAM

1. GENERAL PROVISIONS

Article 1

Association of the Travel Agencies of Macedonia (ATAM) is a form of the organization of the interested travel agencies on the territory of the Republic of Macedonia for advancement and development of the tourist - agency work and the establishment and the realization of the cooperation with the organs and associations from the tourist branch and the complementary branches from the country and abroad.

Article 2

ATAM works within the framework of the Economic Chamber of Macedonia (Association for catering and tourism). It is a voluntary and non - profit association of the Macedonian travel agencies.

The permanent seat of ATAM is in Skopje, on Dimitrie Cupovski Street, number 13.

Article 3

ATAM has a stamp in a triangular shape in which the following text is inscribed:

2. GOALS AND AIMS

Article 4

The basic goals, tasks and functions of ATAM are:

  • advancement and development of the tourist - agency work through the introduction of the rules and standards of ATAM;
  • the establishment and the realization of the cooperation with the organs and associations from the tourist branch and the complementary branches from the country and abroad;
  • representation of the interests of the member - organizations of the Association in front of the authorities in the country and abroad;
  • obtaining a full membership status of ATAM in the International Federation of Travel Agencies and the implementation of the norms from the international convention in agency operation;
  • realization of the cooperation with the organizations on bilateral and international field where ATAM is a member - organization;
  • protection of the professionalism of the travel agencies and the profession - travel agent, but only under the conditions of the full respect of the international conventions, the agreements which are regulating the agency operation and the rules and standards of ATAM;
  • using the advantages of the common propaganda and promotion activities in the country and abroad;
  • education and training of the human resources;
  • other common activities.

3. MEMBERSHIP IN ATAM

Article 5

The membership in ATAM is voluntary and can be obtained by signing an application form and paying the entrance fee and membership fee.

The entities from article 1 of this Statute can be members of ATAM.

After signing the application form and paying the entrance and membership fee, and after the decision for admission from the Executive Board, the member gets the certificate and the logo of ATAM.

All members - organizations have to pay the regular membership fee 60 days after the report for the admission.

Article 6

Membership in ATAM can stop in following cases:

  • if a member - organization finishes its work and existence
  • dismembering the member - organization
  • a member - organization can cancel the membership. The member organization, which is canceling the membership, has a duty to report it to ATAM.

A member - organization can be excluded from the membership:

  • if it doesn't observe and doesn't fulfill the duties which come from the Statute, decisions and conclusions of the organs of ATAM;
  • if it works against the principles and doesn't respect the Book of regulations and standards of ATAM

Article 7

A member - organization of ATAM has the following duties:

  • to observe the Statute, Book of regulations and other common decisions of ATAM, as well as the treaties which are signed by ATAM in the country and abroad;
  • to respect the rules and standards of ATAM and to work according to the rules and standards of ATAM;
  • to display the logo of ATAM on its documents and to place the sticker of ATAM on its bookkeeping journals;
  • to pay the regular annual membership fee in compliances with the decisions of ATAM

A member - organization of ATAM has the following rights and privileges:

  • representation of the interests of the member - organizations of the Association in front of the authorities in the country and abroad;
  • presentation in the business relations with the partners from agency branch and other tourist branches;
  • realization of the business privileges in the cooperation with the organizations on bilateral and multilateral level;
  • protection of the professionalism of the agency operation and the protection of the profession- travel agent;
  • using all of the business information from the databases of ATAM;
  • publishing the logo of ATAM;
  • participation in the work of all executive and professional structures of work in the Association;
  • raising initiatives, giving opinions and suggestions;
  • right to choose and to be chosen in the organs of ATAM.

4. STRUCTURE OF ATAM

Article 8

ATAM has the following bodies:

  • Assembly,
  • Executive Board
  • President.

1. Assembly

Article 9

The Assembly of ATAM is consisted from one representative of all member - organizations.

The assembly of ATAM:

  • Adopts the Statute of ATAM;
  • Adopts the programs for the activities of ATAM;
  • Adopts the Report from the work of ATAM;
  • Decides upon the complaints for exclusion from the membership and erasing from the evidence book and other decisions of the Executive Board;
  • Elects the members of the Executive Board of ATAM;
  • Discusses the other questions.

2. Executive Board

Article 10

ATAM has an Executive Board, as operative - executive organ.

The Executive Board has 11 members, with a 4 year term of office, and with a right to reelection.

The work of the Executive Board is regulated with the Standing orders.

The Executive board has the following duties:

  • prepares the suggestions for Statute and other acts which are adopted by the Assembly of ATAM;
  • conducts a policy of the enhancement of the membership;
  • decides upon the requests for the membership in ATAM;
  • decides for dismemberment and the exclusion from the membership;
  • adopts the standards, manuals, etc.;
  • realizes the conclusions of the Assembly;
  • conducts other duties regulated by the Statute and other acts of ATAM.

3. President

Article 11

The President of ATAM represents the Association, manages his activities and executes the decisions and the conclusions of the other organs of ATAM.

The President of ATAM is chosen from the Assembly, with four years term of office, with a possibility for reelection.

The President is responsible for his work in front of the Assembly.

Article 12

The President of ATAM is also the President of the Executive Board.

The President organizes the work of the Executive Board, schedules the sessions and chairs with the sessions of the Executive Board.

Article 13

ATAM has a Deputy President, elected by the Assembly, from the members of the Executive Board, on the proposal from the President.

The Deputy President, in absence of the President of ATAM, conducts the function of the President with duties and rights equal to the President.

Article 14

ATAM can form temporary or standing bodies for the needs of its operation.

Article 15

The Department for catering and tourism within the Economic Chamber of Macedonia does the professional and administrative - technical work for the needs of ATAM.

5. FINANCIAL ISSUES

Article 16

The funds for work of ATAM are provided with:

  • entrance fee paid
  • annual membership fee
  • other sources.

The criteria for the entrance fee and membership fee is set by the Assembly of ATAM and the amount is set by the Executive Board, upon the needs and programs of ATAM.

The funds of ATAM are put on the separate sub-account in the Economic Chamber of Macedonia. The President of ATAM is the principal, who handles the funds.

6. CLOSING PROVISIONS

Article 17

This Statute enters into force on the day of its adoption, and will be published in the Bulletin of the Economic Chamber of Macedonia.
